Depending on your individual situation, there are different funding options available for New Horizons students. Your Career Consultant can help you identify the best options for you.
Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Funding
The TAA program was designed to help workers who lost their previous job due to foreign outsourcing. The TAA program includes job training benefits that may be used at New Horizons Columbia. You must be approved by the local workforce development agency to receive this type of funding. For more information please visit http://www.doleta.gov/tradeact.
Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Funding
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) provides job training benefits for adults, dislocated workers and youth to help gain skills necessary to obtain and maintain employment. To qualify, you must be approved by your local workforce development agency. For more information about WIA funding please visit http://www.doleta.gov/programs/factsht/wialaw.cfm.
Incumbent Worker Training
The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) gave states the ability to arrange for training dollars for incumbent workers. To learn more about the programs in your area, visit your local One-Stop Career Center, talk to the local workforce investment board, or visit your state workforce agency.
If the above options are not available to you, then you may consider investing in a student loan. New Horizons recommends consulting with your banking institution or financial advisor to help figure out the best student loan option for you.
